Hello and Happy Summer to all our Girlfriends!
Wow, that was one FAST spring! This year is zooming along so we’re calling on all our friends to take a one hour time out this week. It’s time to find a comfy chair, find a glass of something cool and delicious, and call that friend
of yours you’ve been thinking about since receiving her Christmas card six months ago. You know, the one who makes you smile just thinking about her. Email her today and set up a time for your chat later in the week and then put
it on your calendar! Yes, you CAN find the time. One undisturbed hour to reconnect. Both of you will look forward to it all week and you will be so happy you made the time. Enjoy! (special shout out to my pal Mickie: will
talk to you real soon, girlfriend!)
We hope you’ve "liked" Team Towanda on Facebook and are following us on
Twitter. Taylor, our college intern has done a remarkable job getting us up to speed. Please become a fan of Team Towanda so you won’t miss any of the upcoming events.
We have several very important SAVE THE DATES for you:
Gourmet Wine Dinner at The Spicy Green Bean in Glastonbury
Hosted by “Kathy’s Rack Pack”
Wednesday, July 13th, 6 – 9 p.m.
$100 per person 4-course gourmet dinner including beer and wine! Please join us for the fun and to support a great cause! For reservations and payment call Kathy or Lucy at The Bean: (860) 657-3500
Seating for this event is very limited, so buy your tickets ASAP to claim your seat! Proceeds from this event will help a Pink Ribbon Warrior raise the funds she needs to participate in a 3 Day Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. It was fundraising for a 3 Day Walk that was the genesis of The Charge of the Casserole Cavalry, so this project is one that we hold very close to our bosoms. We hope to see you there! TTF cookbooks will be sold at the event to
help the Rack Pack meet their goals.
The Spicy Green Bean is located at 225 Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury, CT 06033 and www.spicygreenbean.com.
April 28, 2012: Team Towanda FUNdraiser
Same place, new date!
Stay tuned for more details on the next Team Towanda FUNdraiser to be held on April 28, 2012. One of the reasons for moving it to April is that everyone is already very aware of Breast Cancer in October. Breast Cancer prevention is 24/7/365. EVERY month should be Breast Cancer awareness month. If you aren’t on our email list, please click here to add your contact information to our database. You won’t want to miss your invitation! Please forward this on to all your best girlfriends so that everyone knows exactly where she’ll be on April 28, 2012 at 6pm! As always, we Pinkie Swear to never ever ever share/swap/sell/barter even a peek at our mailing list, not even for chocolate. If anyone gets your contact info, we can guarantee they didn’t get it from us.
Do you know more than Judith about social media? Of course you do; doesn’t everyone? Sadly, we will soon be saying farewell to Taylor, our college intern who has done a fabulous job with our daily FaceBook and Twitter updates. Team Towanda Foundation is looking for volunteers to help us compile a bank of breast and breast cancer related facts, jokes, news updates, quotes, inspirational passages, and updates on upcoming events. Someone from TT will do the actual daily posts, we need help finding new and interesting items to post. We would love to have a couple of volunteers (especially some of our younger girlfriends!) to find and email appropriate items to TTF. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you can help us out.
TTF in the News!
Last month, The Hartford Courant ran a very nice article about the relationship between Eastern Connecticut Health Network and Team Towanda Foundation. Take a peek here to see how your generosity is making a difference right here in our community!
Summer officially begins today: don’t let it get by you without at least a little girlfriend time!
Wishing you all the breast!
All your bosom buddies at Team Towanda
